Safeer U Khan

Executive Director

Safeer Ullah Khan, with a masters degree in English literature from Punjab University, has been working in development sector for past 16 years. He has been responsible for the communications needs of various organizations and has also managed quite a few projects during his career. He has worked as Project/Program manager, as Editor for newsletters and magazines; and has been served Bedari as Manager, Advocacy, Communications, and Program Development for 8 years before taking over as Executive Director on 1st January 2016.

He has worked on proposals, concept notes, position papers, project reports, annual reports, developed material for websites, wrote scripts for street theatre plays and video documentaries, and done translations of various documents, conducted radio programs on human rights issues, and designed and implemented advocacy campaigns.

He has played active role in various networks and alliances including Alliance against Sexual Harassment at Workplace (AASHA), Child Rights Movement (worked as Coordinator for one year and had been elected a member of the executive committee of the same network), and Human Rights Network (worked as Coordinator for one year). He has been associated with Bedari since 2007. 

Farida Naeem

Finance Manager

Farida has done MPA Finance, and has additional qualifications of LLB. She has nearly 20 years of experience of working in development sector. She has worked with communities, conducted surveys, provided support to victims of violence and abuse in addition to her expertise in finance. She has worked with Bedari in various capacities before taking up the finance department in 2009. She is associated with Bedari since 2006.

Saima Toor

Program Manager

Ms. Saima Toor has master’s degree in Women Studies. She joined Bedari in 2010. She is working as Program Manager. At Bedari, she managed 5 projects on Ending Violence against Women and worked for promotion and protection of women and girls. She has good managerial skills and supervising team of 8 people. She has 16 years working experience in development sector. During her career she worked with different organization like AMAL Human Development Network and Astute Associates in different capacities. She participated in different international training workshops at Bangladesh, Nepal, Netherlands and Thailand.

Altaf Hussain

Program Manager

Mr. Altaf Hussain Malik, with master’s degree in Political Science from Punjab University, Masters in Social Work from University of Sargodha, has been working in development sector for past 18 years. He served various National and International development organizations during his professional career. His key areas are proposals, concept notes, project and annual reports, articles, translations of various documents, master trainer on plenty of subjects associated with social development sector, feature writer, conducted various radio programs on child rights and protection issues, and implemented advocacy campaigns. He is also author of six books. He joined Bedari from October 2016 as Program Manager for “Marriage no Child’s Play” project being implemented with technical support of Oxfam Novib.

Raffat Shuja

Project Manager

Ms. Raffat Shuja, an Alig (has studied at Aligarh University in India), holds MBA (marketing) degree from Virtual University. She joined Bedari in 2015 as a volunteer. Her commitment and hard work helped her move quite quickly up the ladder. Currently, she is working as a Project Manager. She is managing Bedari’s “GIRLSInspire” project. With expertise of monitoring and evaluation, she also holds good managerial and communication skills. She participated in an international training at Nepal. She is competent and keen to bring a change in the society with her work.

Mehvish Shafiq

Project Manager

Ms. Mehvish Shafiq voluntarily joined Bedari in 2012 and started her professional career with in July 2013. She holds a Master’s degree in Psychology. She served Bedari in various capacities and now is working as a Project Manager for “Improving shelter homes”. The project is supported by Amplify Change.  She is having three years’ experience of working on variety of social problems including child marriage, child abuse and violence against women, child education and shelter homes. She participated in an international training at Nepal. She is flexible and so has a grasp on multitasking which makes her competent to conduct the tasks effectively. 

Avais Akram

Project Manager

Mr. Avais Akram, master in Public Administration, joined Bedari in March, 2012 as a District Coordinator Sheikhupura in Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) project of Supporting Transparency, Accountability and Electoral Process in Pakistan (STAEP). He worked with Bedari in various capacities, at different districts, since his joining. Moreover, he represented Bedari at different alliance and network meetings in Lahore. At present he is leading a team of Bedari which is implementing the project, Deepening Democracy and Election Support in Pakistan (DESP) by FAFEN at District Gujranwala.

Irum Fatima

District Coordinator – Lahore 

Ms. Irum has master’s degree in Political Science from Punjab University Lahore and graduation in Fine Arts from NCA. She is working as District Coordinator in Bedari.  She has expertise of community mobilization, delivery of training on different topics and project implementation. She has creative skills and always comes up with new ideas and initiatives. She has working experience in different capacities with different organizations like Save the Children, Cavish and Family Planning Association of Pakistan (FPAP). She has 10 years working experience in development sector. She has attended training workshops in Bangladesh, India, USA, Australia and Netherlands. She has been associated with Bedari since 2010. She served at various offices including Attock, Multan, and now in Lahore.

Hameeda Nasir

District Coordinator – Chakwal 

Masters in Rural Sociology, Hameeda Nasir has 12 years working experience in development sector. She worked with prominent organizations including Sachet and Plan Internationals. She has 9 years’ experience of working as Maser Trainer for Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR). She has long journey of working with communities and grass root level organizations. She joined Bedari as Program Officer in 2013 and diligently taking forward the mission and vision of Bedari to empower women and children. She has exposure of international visits to Nepal and Netherlands.

Yasmeen Fatima

District Coordinator – Vehari

With the vast experience of training Yasmeen Fatima is working as Program Officer at Bedari.  She completed her Masters in Gender & Women Studies and English. She has a grip on community mobilization and implementation of project activities.  She has comprehensive field experience and managing Bedari Vehari field office. She participated in training related to Child Marriage held in Kathmandu, Nepal. Yasmeen have working experience with different organizations like Friends Foundation and Islamic Relief International.  She is with Bedari since 2008.

Farwa Naqvi

District Coordinator – Muzaffargarh

Ms. Farwa Naqvi holds a Master’s degree with the background in political science. She worked with Bedari in different capacities. She joined Bedari in September 2014 till March 2015 as field officer and re-joined as Program Officer in April 2016. She is having an extensive experience of almost six years, in the field of Universal Primary Education, Literacy, Survey Research, Social mobilization and capacity building, Human Rights and Women Empowerment. At Bedari she is working under GIRLSInspire project.

Aftab Farooq

Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

With the vast experience of seventeen years, with national and international organizations, Mr. Aftab holds a Master’s degree in Rural development and a Master’s degree in International Relations. He joined Bedari as a Monitoring and Evaluation Officer in September, 2016. He has expertise in Monitoring and Evaluation, data demand and use, periodic surveys and development, advocacy, communication and culture for M&E Plans, supporting supervision, economic evaluation and Gender along with social evaluation research.
