Bedari staff participates in training workshop on baseline survey tools in Nepal


Bedari Staff participated in a regional workshop on baseline survey conducted by Amsterdam University in Nepal from 4th to 9th April under Her Choice Project, which aims at addressing the issue of child marriages in many countries including Pakistan.DSC_0030_11

In the workshop, fourteen members from five 5 organizations of Nepal,Bangladesh and Pakistan participated. The objective of the workshop was to train the participants to conduct baseline survey in their respective regions. The training also included a field visit to a village of Makwanpur District of Nepal for testing the survey tools. From Bedari, Ms. Mehvish Bibi and Ms. Raffat Shuja participated in the training.

The purpose of this survey is to assess prevalence of Child
Marriage and its related issues. The survey includes interviews of young girls, boys, families, health care providers, teachers, community leaders and school principals. Bedari will conduct this survey in Vehari and Chakwal. With this training Bedari staff learned about tools development, different types of data collection methods and simple data analysis.
