Capacity Building and Training Program:
This program focuses on capacity building of people in addressing gender issues. Bedari does it through two different ways.
  • In house Gender Sensitization Training

Social workers, human rights activists and NGO employees have all the good intentions, but may not be aware and sensitive about the basics of Women rights and gender main streaming. Bedari does gender sensitization training of people involved in social sector. This is a very effective activity in diverting the resources in the rights direction. It is about raising awareness and sensitizing people about the basic human rights of women and girls. It is very importance for a society like Pakistan, where a majority of women are living almost in apartheid situation, and people are so conditioned that they perceive socially conditioned discrimination as natural.

  • Theatre

Alex Mavrocordatos says, “The first step to development is a change of attitude, both individual and collective -- and in that order -- from declared helplessness to empowerment. This is culture in action, and theatre is a cultural tool.”

Street theatre is a tool that helps change people’s attitudes. When a play is prepared and acted on a certain issue facing the community, its people (both those involved in the making/acting and those viewing the play) learn about its causes and consequences. These insights lead to a change in attitude and it is these people who can then become the best advocates and activists in the community.

Bedari offers training for people who wish to get involved in theatre. It aims to enable the campaigners to make good use of theatre in their advocacy/awareness raising campaigns. The training sessions cover all the aspects of a theatre performance i.e. basic technique, developing a good script, direction and performance etc.

  • Offering Training Package to Different Organizations

Bedari offers training package to organizations for their whole staff. In this project, Bedari customizes training manual according to the organization’s need and implement it by going in to there work settings.
