Bedari is running a project for the implementation of the Protection of Women from Sexual Harassment at Workplace Act 2010. Bedari has executed following activities in this regard:

Bedari Staff held regular meetings with the officials of health and education department of the district government. These meetings were part of our efforts for establishing Sexual Harassment Committees – a pre-requisite under the newly enacted law.

Additionally, Bedari arranged awareness sessions for teachers, health professionals and domestic workers. These sessions were attended by 300 teachers including 120 male teachers and 180 female teachers, 140 health professionals and 100 domestic workers.

Another meeting was arranged for opinion makers. It was attended by senior teachers, media persons, doctors, politicians, and social activists. It was attended by 56 persons including 42 females. Bedari gave them an orientation on the issue of sexual harassment, the newly enacted laws and the project being executed by Bedari in their area. It received warm response from the opinion makers who were requested to play their due role in raising awareness and changing the mindset about sexual harassment and providing support to the victims of sexual harassment. Bedari would hold more meetings with these persons and hold discussions on this issue with particular situation and needs of the district Attock.
