Saleem Malik
Executive Director
Saleem Malik has more than 18 years of experience in the management of relief and development program across Pakistan. On completing his Masters in Statistics in 1987, he started his career as a social researcher with International Irrigation Management Institute, Pakistan where he gained extensive social research experience and a deeper understanding of the issues and challenges of rural communities. In 1995, he left for UK to pursue his M.Sc. in Development and Project Planning from the University of Bradford, England. On return, he worked in Program Management, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation with Pattan Development Organization, a national NGO involved with relief and development of flood ridden communities. Later on, he worked with Actionaid and Family Planning Association of Pakistan and then joined Plan Pakistan as Program Unit Manager, where he independently managed a child centered development programme in district Chakwal for three years before getting promoted as Country Child Rights Advisor based in the Country Office Islamabad. He then moved to Bedari, a local NGO, as Executive Director, the position he still holds.
Anbreen Ajaib
Program Manager (HR & Trainings)
Anbreen Ajaib has a master’s degree in organizational psychology from Quid-e-Azam University Islamabad and over eight years of experience of working with development sector in Pakistan. She is a trainer, a human rights activist and a manager/leader of development projects. She joined Bedari as a volunteer, and became a staff member at a later stage.
Urooj Saadat
Program Manager (Crisis Intervention Program)
Urooj Saadat, has a master’s degree in social work from the Punjab University and six years of experience of working with NGOs in Lahore and Islamabad. She has been working with Bedari since 2006.
Safeer Ullah Khan
Communications & Advocacy Manager
Safeer Ullah Khan holds a master’s degree in English literature, with a work experience of over 8 years in development sector. His skills include writing, advertising, project management, theater (acting, play-writing, direction and theater trainings) etc. He has successfully run a project on iodine deficiency disorders (IDDs) in Okara district. He has performed in numerous plays and gave theater trainings to many volunteers working for different NGOs. He has been running a project on “accountability of humanitarian aid agencies” in Mansehra – a district severely damaged in earthquake 2005. He has been working with Bedari since January 2008.
Farida Naeem
Program Manager (HIV/AIDS)
Farida has worked with different organizations and institutions and gained valuable experience in community development, social research, monitoring and management. She has been running HIV/AIDS program since 2007.
Jamshed Ahmed
Admin & Accounts Officer
Jasmshed Ahmed has over ten years of experience of admin and accounts in commercial sector as well as development sector. He has been working with Bedari since 2006.
Muhammad Nadeem
Program Officer
Nadeem Malik is studying non-formal education and has long been associated with different NGOs. He has worked with Nai Zindagi as counselor helping drug addicts overcome their addiction. He has some experience of working marketing department of AC Nelson. He has been looking after Bedari’s projects in Azad Jammu & Kashmir since 2006.
Hashim Ahmed
Program Development Officer
Hashim Ahmed has done graduation and did internships with different organizations including CHIP. He has been working with Bedari for past 6 months on different projects including Mansehra Consumer Helpline; Girls Education beyond Primary Level, and theater program.
Mudassar Nazar
Admin & IT Assistant
Mudassar Nazar is skilled in trouble shooting IT related problems. He has been working with Bedari since 2006.
Sumera Nabi
Program OfficerSumera Nabi has done Masters in Business Administration from Bahria University, Islamabad. She has worked with NADRA as Quality Assurance Supervisor of call centers. For her interest and commitment to women’s rights, she joined Bedari in 2008 as Program Officer. She is responsible for Resource Center on Violence against Women and Bedari website.
